When Billy was in High School, he was one of the founding members of Stage The Change: Theatre as A Social Voice, a program designed to help high school students create social justice based works across various art forms. This program, under the leadership of Ruthie Pincus, is now celebrating its tenth year, and Billy always returns to teach a workshop each year.

Billy’s TYA work on the music and lyrics of “Petunia’s Big Day,” a family friendly puppet musical about anxiety that played at the New Ohio Theatre in 2022, was singled out in The NY Times. Billy has been commissioned by Child’s Play, a Brooklyn based educational theatre program, to write several original musicals and songs for their students.
